Released in a beautiful gatefold sleeve and on blue in bronze coloured vinyl on Magnetic Eye and now available through Copper Feast Records, this is the 3rd album from Boston's stoner metal legends Summoner, featuring Deafheaven's Chris Johnson on vocals.
 
"Summoner have put out one of the better hard rock albums of the year with Beyond The Realm The Light. It is a masterclass in the fine art of riff science, but more importantly, it wraps these riffs, in well crafted songs filled to the brim with energy and verve. They are catchy and played with fire.
 
It opens with a couple of galloping rock bangers in “New Sun” and “The Huntress”, which get the album off to fist pumping start. These two like burlier more modern updates on Thin Lizzy, complete with blistering guitar solos. The title track stretches things out a bit, operating at a more deliberate pace, adding some touches of psyche rock to the mix, to craft an epic slow burner of a number. “The Emptiness” is another strutting rocker, while “Skies Of The Unknown” builds from cleanly strummed acoustic guitars, to a plugged-in galloping pace, then slows down a bit before ending.
 
“Into Oblivion” ends the album with another rock banger.
